After you submit a reference, we contact your reference for a recommendation. Usually, we're able to reach references within a day or so of receiving the reference contact information, but sometimes references don't answer or return our messages.

At the same time, we will perform a background check through a service called SmartMove. You can read about what we check for here. If the applicant passes the background check, we write up the lease.

Once we complete reference and background checks for applications to a unit, we start offering leases.

If the applicant pays the deposit on time, we accept them as a tenant and close the application process for the unit. If you are behind them in line, you'll receive an email saying we found a tenant and that we're no longer considering your application.
