For owners with multiple units, we shift balances between ledgers before making any payouts. In other words, the total balance for all your units must be negative for you to receive a payout.
Let's say you have two units: Unit A and Unit B. Unit A has a $500 outstanding balance, and Unit B has no balance. If you receive $800 in rent from Unit B, $300 of it will pay out to you, and $500 will be transferred to Unit A to zero out the $500 outstanding balance there.
Each transfer to a different unit will have a line item showing the amount of money moved and the destination of the money.
